Bull Island Action Group - April Beach Clean Up!

The Bull Island Action Group Monthly Beach Clean Up for April 2017 will take place this Saturday, 15th. 

Those wishing to volunteer are asked to arrive at the entrance to Dollymount Strand (just past Royal Dublin Golf Club) at 10:45 AM, in order to begin the clean up at 11 AM

Dublin City Council will provide a tractor and trailer, plus a driver, to remove and dispose of all the rubbish collected by volunteers. The Dublin Port Company will provide litter-picking equipment, such as litter-pickers, bin bag hoops, rubbish bags and gloves. 

The weather for Saturday is set to be cloudy and no rain is forecast. It will be cold with a temperature of 5 degrees. There will be a moderate breeze so be sure to wrap up well and bring a waterproof jacket just in case. Sturdy footwear and thick socks are essential and rubber boots are always a good idea.

The next beach cleanup from the Bull Island Action Group will take place this weekend on Saturday 19th November 2016 and any and all volunteers are welcome.

Battle for The Bay - Video!

The Battle for the Bay started out as a relatively small event in Clontarf 10 years ago this week.

The 10th edition of this unique event takes place this weekend. The event is now backed by Failte Ireland, Dublin Tourism and many international sponsors. It brings in many overseas visitors to Dublin, and Clontarf each year.

Catherine and Francois from Pure Magic deserve huge credit for building this event into what it is today. Show your support by popping down this weekend. It's a fantastic spectacle for all the family.

Bull Island Action Group May Beach Clean Up!

The next Bull Island Action Group Monthly Beach Clean Up will take place on Saturday 21st May. 

The details are as follows: 

Meeting time:   11:00a.m. - please try to arrive 10 minutes early.

Meeting point:  The entrance to Dollymount Strand, just past Royal Dublin Golf Club.

By Bus:            Take the Route 130 bus from Lower Abbey Street. 

Bus Stop:         Get off at the Wooden Bridge - ask the bus driver - and then walk for 5 minutes onto the island.

Just a quick reminder that the next Bull Island Action Group litter pick up will be held this Saturday, March 16th. As ever, they would appreciate as much help as possible.

The group always meets on the third Saturday of every month at 11am, at the entrance to Dollymount Strand, just beyond the Royal Dublin Golf Club. The duration of the litter pick up is approximately 2 hours. Click this link for a map of the meeting point.
