Hollybrook Road Clean Up - Great Success

Hollybrook Road, Clontarf - Clean up operationHollybrook Road hasn’t looked as well for quite a while!

This is as a result of a joint clean-up operation yesterday morning organised by local Clontarf residents and Dublin City Council. It involved moving all cars off the road for a short period of time to allow a road cleaning crew from DCC to have full access to the road.

There was great co-operation from local residents and that meant that the road was fully cleaned over a 2 hour period.

This is a great example of how we can make better use of the resources offered by DCC while being mindful of the budget constraints in DCC. With many roads in Clontarf clogged with parked cars throughout the week, it is not possible to organise an efficient clean-up using a cleaning truck. Therefore it can only happen with some formal collaboration with residents.

Well done to the organisers who included committee members of the Clontarf Business Association, David Doran and Jim Scully and also to the DCC team.

Yes ,it was a great success all the residents moved there cars no problem, but im sorry to say its the people who park there cars for the weekend or even weeks when they go on holidays and taxi it to the airport ,that just dont care as they are not residents and only use our road to save paying parking,
As the dcc did such a great job cleaning our road which i must say took them alot longer then two hours as they tried in vain to clean when a parked car moved so they had to go up and down a few times .Just an extra thought for the DCC as this was such a success why not deep clean all the drains on the street at the same time,  if this could happen then just lets say hollybrook road is of the list and so on . Then if we get more rain water flooding we can see the roads which drains were cleaned or not to see if it helps our problem like we had in november last
